My Trayvon Martin wish

I'll expound on this in a column, likely this weekend, but wanted to put this out there. I wish filmmaker Spike Lee - who foolishly retweeted the wrong address to George Zimmerman's home and caused an elderly couple a lot of headache - has the wisdom to use this moment for good, such as going down to Sanford, Fla., meeting with that couple, treating them to lunch and organizing a joint discussion about race and other such things with them. I made the same type of request during the mess that became the Duke lacrosse rape scandal, calling for the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to link arms with the Duke players who were falsely accused to drive home the point about the need for unity and changes in the criminal justice system. That didn't happen, but I hope something good can come out of this Trayvon Martin tragedy, beyond just assuring that a complete investigation takes place. Someone such as Lee can get that ball rolling.
