I'm tempted to make things easy on Republican and Democratic candidates who want to become the first representative of our new congressional district. (I'm probably not going to vote for former S.C. Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer under any circumstances, even though he is currently leading the fund-raising race. I was unimpressed with his maturity level when he was our lieutenant governor.) If you say bringing down the debt and deficit are priorities and say you will increase taxes - along with spending and entitlement reform, among other things - if that is what it would take, you'll likely get my vote. But if you claim the debt and deficit are priorities then claim we can get there without increasing revenue, I know you aren't serious and I won't waste my time listening to much else you have to say.
