Myrtle Beach-area toy drive for children who've lost parents to violence

The S.C. Mothers Against Violence, based in Myrtle Beach, is holding a Christmas toy drive for children between the ages of 1 and 12. Donations are welcome through Dec. 19.
The toys will go to children from the Wampee area through Georgetown County who have lost parents to violence. The children will receive the toys during a 6 p.m. event on Dec. 21 at Shield Chapel on Canal Street in Myrtle Beach.
Call Elizabeth Bowens at (843) 685-3212 for drop-off locations.
"I don’t want to come short and not have enough for these children," Bowens said.
The group has also scheduled a luncheon for 11 a.m. on Dec. 1 at Ryan's restaurant in the Surfside Beach area.
