The fever is breaking: Sen. Lindsey Graham now willing to ignore no new taxes pledge

I said for many months that the election result would be incredibly important because if it went one way, it would reinforce the Tea Party-Sen. Mitch McConnell idea that if you obstruct enough - even when the country is facing enormous challenges - it would lead to political gains. That would be bad long-term for the economy and the country as a whole.

President Barack Obama said it was possible after the election that "fever" would break and the Republican Party would be forced to look within so real compromises on major issues could become possible again. This is the latest example of how that analysis just might be true:
