President Obama has made a commitment to take a deep dive into the always-controversial issue of how best to curb gun violence in this country in the wake of what happened in Newtown Friday.
Good. While gun control is not the only factor in such cases, it clearly has to be discussed as we search for solutions to an extremely complex problem.
Discussing gun violence without talking about gun regulations is akin to talking about drunk-driving deaths without mentioning alcohol's role.
Guns may not kill people, but they sure make it easier for people to kill people.
