House GOP lawyer: Gays shouldn't be allowed to get married because they don't have unintended pregnancies

A novel argument to save the Defense of Marriage Act, to say the least.

Marriage should be limited to unions of a man and a woman because they alone can “produce unplanned and unintended offspring”

I'm sure someone will explain why this is a good defense of DOMA. But here's another question about this: Do we really want to claim that marriage is all about the ability to reproduce in ways unintended or not? That would also eliminate a lot of man-woman combinations from the union as well, no?
