Apparently, you don't have to be a hard-right social Republican to say confounding things about rape. This time a Democrat steps into it:
Democrat says women who fear rape shouldn't have guns because they might mistakenly shoot someone
Now seems like an appropriate time to give them the same advice I gave to the GOP: Stop talking about rape in such shallow terms. Please.
Just as there is a reason to talk about rape and abortion and who should decide, there is a solid reason to talk about the unintended consequences of arming more people, even for self protection. But there is a saner way to talk about it than this.
