Dow ends above 14,000 for the first time since 2007

Yes, there needs to be more growth on Main Street and in the middle class, as far as jobs and incomes.

But it is not only Wall Street executives who benefit when the Dow and S&P 500 soar. Those of us who have 401ks and a variety of other stocks invested in retirement and other accounts also benefit. Since the market bottom out in early 2009, it has returned a few trillion dollars of value to 401ks and other financial instruments that affect the middle class.
