Coastal Carolina basketball coach Cliff Ellis has filled the final vacancy on his coaching staff, according to a release from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith.
The release announces that UAFS has hired Ryan Price as an assistant basketball coach, and also says that Price filled a vacancy created when former assistant Richie Riley, who was hired at UAFS earlier this month, resigned to take an assistant position at Coastal.
If Ellis has in fact hired Riley, Coastal has filled all the vacancies on its coaching staff staff, which was ravaged during the offseason. Ellis had to replace assistants Jamie Kachmarik, Scott Stapler and Raheem Waller. He previously hired West Florida head coach Don Hogan and Louisiana Monroe assistant Gus Hauser.
Riley was previously a coach at NAIA Pikeville College, where the 26-year-old served as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. Pikeville landed top-five recruiting classes in 2007 and 2008, according to the release announcing his hiring earlier this month.
Riley has also coached at Division II Hawaii - Pacific and NAIA Georgetown. He played one season of college basketball at Eastern Kentucky.
