CONWAY | Coastal faces a big challenge today in the Big South's top-rated offense. Gardner-Webb is capable of putting up yards and points in bushels.
Of course, Coastal's strength this season has been defense, so I can't imagine the Bulldogs will run - or throw - wild. But you can't expect the Chants to shut Gardner-Webb out, so can Coastal's offense do anything ... well, offensive? Gardner-Webb's defense is pretty solid, too. The group of linebackers are probably the best in the Big South, and those guys make a lot of plays.
Gardner-Webb has lost five straight to Coastal, but at some point I think the Bulldogs will finally get over the hump. I think that happens today. I expect Coastal to player better, but I'm not sure it will be enough. I think Gardner-Webb and coach Steve Patton will escape with a narrow win at Brooks Stadium.
