Since clinching a berth in the NCAA tournament, Coastal Carolina’s
volleyball players have talked about making the most of their experience.
The Chanticleers learned their fate Sunday, and though Lincoln, Neb.,
wasn’t as glamorous as some of the other potential destinations, they will
experience an atmosphere that transcends the entire sport. Tenth-seeded Nebraska will host Coastal
(20-13) in the first round of the 64-team tournament on Friday.

A person with a vested interest in the future of Coastal athletics posed an interesting question to me yesterday: How did Lawson Holland become one of the final two candidates for Coastal's athletic director position when he doesn't even have the experience that the school required when it posted the position on its Web site?

Coastal has moved the opening tip of Saturday's men's basketball home game against Allen from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The game would have conflicted with Clemson-South Carolina had it been played at its original time.
Coastal Carolina's volleyball team will learn its NCAA tournament destination and opponent at the Crafy Rooster, a restaurant/bar in downtown Conway, on Sunday. The school will hold a selection show party at 3 p.m., when ESPNews will announce the brackets. The public is invited to attend.
Coastal won the Big South tournament this past weekend, clinching the school's first berth in the 64-team NCAA tournament since 1998. The Crafty Rooster is located at 1125 3rd Ave.
