On the eve of the NCAA Division I volleyball tournament selection show, here are some of the accomplishments of this year's team, according to athletic media relations assistant Teresa Garbee:
* Won the Big South Championship after defeating Liberty 3-1 to earn the League’s automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament
* Third appearance in the NCAA Volleyball Tournament, having gone in 1996 and 1998
* First NCAA Tournament appearance under Head Coach Kristen Bauer
* Won the Big South Championship as the No. 4-seeded team
* The last time a No. 4-seed team in the Big South Tournament won the championship was in 1994.
* Chelsy Kimes was named Big South Tournament MVP
* Sierra Livesay was named Big South Freshman of the Year
* Finished the 2008 season as the 2008 Big South regular season co-champions
* Defeated No. 1 UNC Asheville in all three meetings this season, including a 3-0 win in the Big South Championship Semifinals
* The Chanticleers handed No. 1 UNC Asheville two of its three conference losses in the regular season
* Senior Jill Nyhof currently ranks 35th in the NCAA in blocks per set and has ranked as high as second in the category this season
* Fell to No. 23 Dayton in first match of the season, but forced the match to four sets after winning the first set.
* Nyhof leads the Big South in blocks this season and had a career-high 13 blocks, including five solo blocks against #23 Dayton in first match of the season
* Defeated Ball State 3-1 at the Mortar Board Premier, hosted by Purdue
* Defeated Wake Forest 3-1 at the Bash in the ‘Boro Tournament, hosted by Georgia Southern
* Junior Chelsy Kimes ranks second in Coastal Carolina career records in kills per game with 3.74 and fourth in career kills with 1,343.
* Kimes hit 1,000 kills against Western Carolina on Sept. 19
* Senior Megan Pollard hit 1,000 digs against Dayton on Aug. 28
* Nyhof ranks second in career total blocks with 449 and second in block assists with 334
* Junior Megan Bickford has led the team in hitting percentage her freshman, sophomore and junior years, ranks first in career hitting percent with .324 at Coastal Carolina and ranks fifth in the Big South in category in her career
* Senior Meagan Tracey ranks second in career assist per game with 9.98
* Megan Bickford was named Big South Player of the Week Oct. 19
* Nyhof earned Big South Defensive Player of the Week twice during the 2009 season
* Sierra Livesay earned Big South Freshman of the Week twice during the 2009 season
