Junior guard Desmond Holloway has made quite an impression in his first six games in a Coastal Carolina uniform.
Not only is Holloway, an offseason transfer from Wabash Valley College, leading the Chanticleers in scoring (18.5 points per game) and rebounding (6.2 per game), but he has already earned his first Big South honor.
Holloway was announced Monday as the Big South's men's basketball player of the week.
In four games last week in Charleston, he averaged 20 points and six rebounds while shooting 51.1 percent from the field and 84.4 percent from the free throw line. That included a 24-point, nine-rebound game against College of Charleston and 25 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in a double overtime win over UNC-Charlotte on Sunday.
