**With National Signing Day (Wednesday) approaching, The Roost will continue introducing Coastal Carolina's 2011 football recruiting class one by one.**
A linebacking corps that was a strength for Coastal Carolina last season and projects to be one again next fall gains depth and a future asset in Tre'Sean McQueen, who is expected to sign with the program this week.
McQueen, a 6-foot, 220-pound inside linebacker from Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., delivers a physical presence on the field as well as key intangibles, according to his high school coach.
"I think his biggest attribute is his leadership. He's just a natural leader," Grayson coach Mickey Conn told The Sun News. "He brings that to the weight room, to the field, to the classroom, everything he does.
"... He's a big hitter, and he really understands the game and sees the game at a fast speed. Coastal got them a good one."
As a senior at Grayson, McQueen tallied 103 total tackles (65 solo), 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles and two interceptions.
"He's just a really mature kid. I can't overemphasize enough what a great leader he is," Conn said. "You get a lot of kids that come through your program that are good kids and they work hard and they're good soldiers for you. But this kid, he's a leader, and I think that's what separates him from most people. And that's what's going to help him at the next level."
As for his decision to choose Coastal ...
"The head coach all the way through the guys that recruited him did a really good job of representing the program there at Coastal and really showed an interest in him and made him feel at home," Conn said. "When he went up on the visit, he just had a great time and loved the campus."
