Meo honored as national player of the week

Coastal Carolina ace Anthony Meo was named one of three Louisville Slugger National Players of the Week as named by Collegiate Baseball.

Meo earned the honor after throwing the first no-hitter in Big South tournament history when he led the Chanticleers to a 5-0 win over Radford in their tournament opener last Wednesday. The junior right-hander recorded nine strikeouts and one walk in his dominant performance while improving to 9-3 for the season and lowering his earned run average to 2.21.

Collegiate Baseball also moved the Chants (41-18) up three spots in its national poll to No. 21, while the team returned to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll at No. 29.
