Ellis on Nieman

Not much here, but I talked to CCU basketball coach Cliff Ellis yesterday about Danny Nieman's July 2 arrest by the Horry County Police Department for having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

Ellis wouldn't comment on any potential discipline or anything else about the matter other than to confirm that Nieman is still in the program.

"We're gathering information. I really don't have any comment on it other than the fact that we're just gathering information right now," Ellis said.

Nieman, a rising junior guard, was the only player to start all 34 games last season for the Chanticleers. He averaged 6.2 points and more than 29 minutes per game.
