CCU football adds receiver

Coastal Carolina announced another early addition to its 2012 football recruiting class Tuesday as wide receiver Tyrell Blanks has signed a financial grant and aid agreement after spending the fall semester with the Atlanta Sports Academy.

Blanks, a 5-foot-10 receiver out of Fort Myers, Fla., is currently enrolled in classes at CCU. He caught 16 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns in his prep school season after hauling in 19 receptions for 389 yards and four touchdowns as a senior at South Fort Myers High School while helping his team to an 12-1 record.

He will be eligible to practice with the Chanticleers this spring.
