CCU football adds assistant coach

Coastal Carolina football coach Joe Moglia has filled one of the voids on his coaching staff, announcing on Monday the addition of Cory Bailey as recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach.

Moglia had two positions to fill this offseason after recruiting coordinator Mike Gallagher resigned in December and defensive line coach Brandon Noble left earlier this month for a job at Temple.

Bailey comes to Coastal after spending eight seasons as the head coach at Assumption College, a Division II school in Worcester, Mass., where he had a 32-50 record over a split tenure (he left the program for the 2008 season to pursue a job out of football).

The school posted winning records in back-to-back seasons from 2009-10 for the first time in program history, including the school's first road victory over a Division I program (Fordham).

Bailey wasn't due to arrive on campus until Friday, so it's unclear how involved -- if at all -- he's been in putting together Coastal's latest recruiting class. National Signing Day is Feb. 6.
