I've had a few people ask why junior forward Uros Ljeskovic can't get off the bench now for the Coastal Carolina men's basketball team after starting the first six games of the season.
I initially thought he just fell out of the rotation, but it has been 12 games without him getting on the floor at this point. He hasn't played a minute since Big South play began, so I asked coach Cliff Ellis.
Here's what he had to say:
"He's been hurt. He sprained his back, he's been doing some things and really, truly Marcus [Freeman] and Kyle [Buffkin] have been doing some things well. [So] we haven't pushed the injury. It started out with the injury and then Marcus and those guys kind of fit in. After about the seventh or eighth game, he's been hurt. He comes out and does the best he can, but he's had some back issues. He's not been healthy, and I'm glad you brought that up because I probably should have explained that."
