CONWAY | Coastal Carolina’s record-breaking campaign in men’s basketball was nearly wiped away this spring.

Pep rally today

Coastal will host a season-opening pep rally, dubbed "Rally at the Roost," for its baseball and softball teams today at Watson Stadium. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and includes free food, giveaways and introductions of the teams. Coastal coach Gary Gilmore is hoping the event helps create some interest in his 12th-ranked Chanticleers.

Coastal makes coaching hire

CONWAY | Coastal Carolina is replacing a coaching legend with one that's coming off her second national championship.

Kelley Green, formerly the coach at Division II Lock Haven (Penn.), has agreed to a three-year deal to replace Jess Dannelly as Coastal's next head softball coach, Coastal Senior Women's Administrator Cari Rosiek said Tuesday.
