Mapp joins staff

CONWAY | Coastal Carolina has made the first of three additions to its coaching staff.

Hofstra defensive line coach Kevin Mapp, who lost his job when the school dropped football earlier this month, has accepted an offer to join the Chanticleers, coach David Bennett said.

Norman named All-American

Coastal Carolina corner Josh Norman was named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press Wednesday.

Coastal posts openings

Coastal officially posted the job advertisement for its three assistant football coaching vacancies on Monday. The school is seeking only candidates with previous Division I - either FCS or FBS - coaching experience. More than 100 resumes have already arrived for the position. Another QB coming

Former Northwestern reserve quarterback Harrison Scott plans to transfer to Coastal Carolina, according to a blog post by the Dalton (Ga.) Daily Citizen. Scott, a 6-foot-2, 195-pounder, redshirted at Northwestern, where he was a walk on, in 2008 before leaving the program. He has been attending classes at Dalton State College, according to the report.

Coastal lands Clemson transfer

Less than a month after he was dismissed by Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, offensive lineman Kenneth Page will transfer to Coastal Carolina, recruiting analyst Phil Kornblut reported Friday.

More changes for Chants

Two days after deciding not to retain three assistant coaches, Coastal football coach David Bennett said Thursday that assistant strength and conditioning coach Mitch St. Martin will not return next season. St. Martin, a former Coastal football walk on, is in his fourth season with the Chanticleers.
