Charleston Southern University will provide the four Suggs children with four-year full-tuition scholarships, Debbie Williamson, the school’s vice president for enrollment management announced Friday.
“Charleston Southern University is pleased to participate in the benefit package as part of this family’s participation in the ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Williamson said. “Our faculty, staff and students lead and participate in numerous service programs, and we believe supporting the Suggs family in our own community is an opportunity to serve God as we serve them.”
CSU officials will present the family with letters addressed to each of the four children at a press conference on Tuesday.
The school, which was founded in 1964, has about 3,200 undergraduates and is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
