While their home is getting a complete makeover from the ground up as part of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the Suggs family was treated to spending the day with race car driver Jeff Gordon at the Daytona Experience in Florida.
Gordon is one of the celebrity guests on the show, which is set to air in March.
Gordon offered the family a ride-along with him on the track, said spokesman George DuRant, a consultant for Sterling Homes, the builder and the Extreme Makeover team.
The family was surprised Monday with the news their home would be redone and was whisked off to Disney World.
They will get a chance to see their home for the first time Jan. 18. Gordon is expected to be back at the build site Sunday in the Allsbrook Community near Loris.
