The Suggs family said again and again Tuesday afternoon how thankful they are to everyone who helped build their house and supported the project.
"We really appreciate everything you’ve done for our family," said Derrick Suggs. "Thank ya’ll for everything."
Both Charleston Southern University and Horry Georgetown Technical College presented scholarships for the family's children at the press conference. The First Presbyterian Church Growing Tree preschool also donated tuition for 1 year-old Mason.
Darlington Raceway presented the family with a piece of the starting and finish line from before the track was repaved last year, along with a VIP experience for the family during the Southern 500 along with lifetime passes.
The family also received several other donations of food and services.
