Kim injury could be blow to tour

With Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh already off the PGA Tour for at least a few more weeks with injuries, the last thing the tour needs is a rising star to miss time with an injury. So the news that Anthony Kim, the youngest winner on tour last year and a winner of two big 2008 events, withdrew from the Bob Hope with an injury had to be disturbing for tour officials. Kim was the highest ranked player in the field at No. 8 and withdrew due to a shoulder injury. Kim reportedly had an MRI on a shoulder and was told not to play by doctors. Doesn't sound all that promising for a promising young star, but Kim said he didn't expect to miss much time. ``We don't consider my shoulder to be anything too serious. I don't expect to miss extended time, but it is important to be cautious with it at this early stage in the season.''
