More doom and gloom
The golf industry continues to be affected by the country's economic downturn. TaylorMade Golf, the primary equipment sponsor of Myrtle Beach's Dustin Johnson, announced the layoff of 70 workers across all areas of the company on Friday. The company said in a release that it was a direct response to today's uncertain global economic climate.
``We have to align our resources appropriately to meet the unique challenges ahead,'' said Mark King, TMaG chief executive officer and president, in the release. ``. . . We're confident that the steps we're taking now will allow our company to remain strong during these turbulent times."
