Johnson getting good look at Black course

Myrtle Beach resident Dustin Johnson has played 36 holes on the Bethpage Black course through Tuesday: nine by himself on Sunday, nine with Lucas Glover on Monday, and 18 Tuesday with Justin Leonard, Gary Woodland and Ricky Fowler.
Woodland is a former NGA Hooters Tour player who is renowned for having perhaps the longest drive in the game. He ranks fourth on the tour in measured drives, just behind Johnson in third. Both average more than 307 yards. Johnson said there were no challenges made during the practice round. He said length isn't their only goal this week.
``Me and him hit it about the same distance,'' Johnson said. ``We've played with each other enough so we know how far we each hit it and don't try [to outdrive each other] anymore. We're trying to hit it straight.''
