Ferenz continues success from Tidewater

Jack Ferenz, the winner last Thursday of the Sunbelt Senior Tour's $27,000 South Carolina Senior Open at Tidewater Golf Club and Plantation, carried his momentum into qualifying for the Champions Tour's Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn and is playing for a lot more money this week. The tournament beginning Friday has a $1.7 million purse. Three players who competed at Tidewater _ Ferenz, Javier Sanchez and Walter Hall _ made the tournament field and are competing for the winner's check of $255,000. This is just the second Champions Tour event Ferenz has qualified for this year. He missed the cut at the U.S. Senior Open Championship in late July.
