McPherson off first at Samsung

Conway native Kristy McPherson will have a pristine 6,721-yard South Course at Torrey Pines to experience Thursday in the first round of the $1 million Samsung World Championship. She is going off the first tee in the first time of the 20-player tournament at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) with Na Yeon Choi.
We should be able to catch the end of her round on television since the Golf Channel has coverage of the San Diego-area event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and NBC has coverage from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, and from 1-3 p.m. Sunday. The winner earns a smooth $250,000.
