Myrtle Beach resident Dustin Johnson has settled on a schedule for the next couple months on the PGA Tour.
Johnson still has this week and next week off before he plans to play in three in a row. He is planning to compete at the $8.5 million WGC-CA Championship, the $5.4 million Transitions Championship at Innesbrook Resort and the $6 million Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. If he skips one of those events it would likely be at Innesbrook.
After Bay Hill he'll take a week off while the tour heads to Houston and return the next week to play in the Masters at Augusta National. He plans to skip the Verizon Heritage in Hilton Head Island and the next week's event in New Orleans. During the week of the New Orleans event he initially planned to accept an appearance fee to play in the $3 million Ballantine's Championship from April 22-25 at Pinx Golf Club in Jeju Island, South Korea, which is an event on the European Tour. But he’s changed his mind. He intends to play the next week in the Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte and would have had a quick turnaround after flying back from Korea. According to Johnson's swing coach, Allen Terrell, he plans to get a couple rounds in at Augusta National Golf Club this week to get a sneak peak at the course in preparation for the April 11-14 Masters.
