Brush with Johnson leaves lasting memory

Four golfers who graduated from the Golf Academy of the America’s Myrtle Beach campus on April 22 had a brush with greatness during their round on April 18 at the TPC of Myrtle Beach. That’s the day Dustin Johnson was shooting a TV commercial as part of his agreement and promotion for Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday.

The foursome of Skylar O’Dell, Daniel Bisazza, Eric Dutcher and Alex Matsias came across Johnson filming on the tee of the par-3 17th hole and challenged the 12th-ranked player in the world to a closest-to-the pin contest on the 193-yard hole. Predictably, Johnson won the challenge, but the four players left with a lasting memory.

“What a cool experience for all of us and what a great way to conclude our Myrtle Beach golf education,” O’Dell said.
