ZERO – The Project to End Prostate Cancer will conduct free prostate cancer tests on the Grand Strand from Thursday through Saturday.
The test consists of a simple blood test and a physical examination. Local physicians will provide these free and confidential testing in as little as 10 minutes without an appointment. More than 240,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year alone. There are no noticeable symptoms of prostate cancer while it is in the early stages, so testing is vitally important.
The tests run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, and the testing sites Thursday and Friday have changed from initial plans. Testing Thursday will be at the Barefoot Resort Driving Range and testing Friday is at Martin’s PGA Tour Superstore on 29th Ave. North and U.S. 17 in Myrtle Beach. Testing Saturday is at the Georgetown Wal-Mart on at 1310 North Fraser St. Testing typically costs $100 or more.
