The Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association is behind Golfanatic Day, a promotion that will benefit the First Tee of Myrtle Beach.
The first 1,000 golfers who register will receive a golf package for $99 and access to the Golfanatic Day Ball, an event at Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach on Sept. 23.
The GolFanatic package includes: four rounds for cart fees of golf at a choice of 13 Myrtle Beach area courses; gift cards totaling $130 to Martin’s PGA Tour Superstore, Divine Dining and The Nike Store; one raffle ticket for a chance to win a number of prizes; and eight taste tickets and three drink tickets to the ball.
Players get a round at Whispering Pines Golf Club and can choose between one of several Burroughs & Chapin participating courses, one of Myrtle Beach National’s participating courses, and one of Arnold Palmer Golf Management’s five courses. The golf coupons are valid through August 31, 2012 and are subject to blackout dates and other restrictions.
Raffle prizes include: Titleist Pro V1 golf balls; Footjoy shoes; a TaylorMade R11 Driver; Ahead brand golf shirts; a John Deere lawn mower; stay and play packages for four players and two nights accommodations at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes and Legends Golf Resort; gift cards totaling $2,500 from Martin’s PGA Tour Superstore; two season tickets to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans; entry in to the 2012 Father-Son Team Classic; and entry into the 2012 GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship.
Golfanatic packages can be purchased at Grande Dunes, Wachesaw East, Legends Golf Resort and Whispering Pines.
The Sun News and Dustin Johnson Foundation are among nine supporting sponsors. MBAGCOA treasurer Bill Golden said the promotion has the potential to fund up to 50 percent of the annual operational cost of The First Tee of Myrtle Beach.
