Dustin Johnson's ability to dunk a basketball barefoot and flat-footed has been well documented. He recently shot a commercial with Gary Woodland on a basketball court and dunking was involved. Woodland played basketball briefly at Division II Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., before accepting a scholarship offer to play golf at Kansas. He and Johnson are two of the longest hitters on the PGA Tour.
Johnson was asked who would win in a game of horse, he or Woodland. "I don't know," he said. "Depends on who had shot the previous couple weeks probably. I haven't shot a basketball in a long time."
Who would win in a game of one-on-one? "Who knows? I don't know," Johnson said. "I can play one-on-one all right. In a shooting contest, I'd probably give Gary the upper hand. One-on-one I think I'd be a lot closer."
Johnson likes to leave any activity on a basketball for the offseason, however. "Playing basketball, though, is tough to play when you're at a tournament," Johnson said. "I'm always sore after I play usually, and you've got the chance to twist an ankle, too, so I usually wait until the offseason."
