Lehman's game withstanding test of time

And to think it all started in Florence, in a sense.

By winning three Champions Tour titles this year and capturing the Charles Schwab Cup on Sunday, Tom Lehman put himself in the driver’s seat to become the first player to capture player of the year honors on all three PGA Tour-run tours.

He won the honor on the Nationwide Tour in 1991 when he won three times, PGA Tour in 1996 when he won the British Open and Tour Championship and finished in the top 20 in 19 of 22 starts, and Champions Tour in 2011?

Lehman’s second wins on the Nationwide Tour – then the Ben Hogan Tour – in 1991 came at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence.

Player of the year on all three tours is based on a vote of the respective tour’s membership.  Announcements will be made in December.
