Byrd completes Q-School as drama continues to unfold

Murrells Inlet resident Zack Byrd has completed his first trip to the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament Finals, and will have to settle for conditional status on the 2012 Nationwide Tour.

But if you want to see some drama on the golf course, check out the end of today’s sixth and final round on Golf Channel as dreams are both realized and choked away on the final holes.

The top 25 players and ties after today's final round earn 2012 PGA Tour playing cards, the next 50 players and ties earn full Nationwide Tour status in 2012, and the remaining players earn conditional Nationwide status.

Byrd shot a 1-over-par 73 on the Tournament Stadium Course for a 5-over 437 total Monday and finished the 172-player event in a tie for 117th at the time of his final putt. He finished strong, making three birdies and a bogey over his final six holes, including a birdie on the 18th.
