There is a charity captain's choice tournament on Saturday that has room for a few more teams if anybody's interested.
The annual Shiver for the Shelter Golf Tournament, presented by Slimbo Productions will be held Saturday at Farmstead Golf Links in Calabash.
The tournament benefits the animals housed at the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. An entry fee of 100 pounds of pet food per player plus a $20 registration fee includes green & cart fee, range balls, lunch from Bistro 90, refreshments on the course andd a raffle for prizes.
Tournament coordinator Jeffrey Wisniewski, an asssistant pro at Arcadian Shores Golf Club, would like to have the field complete by Friday afternoon. The 2010 event generated nine tons of food for the animals and over the years has brought in nearly 60 tons.
