NGA Tour alums showed value of the tour last week on next level

The Grand Strand-based NGA Tour (formerly the Hooters Tour) is struggling to fill fields in this new age of mini-tour developmental golf, but its worth was proven again this past week.

Tour alums swept both the Web.com Tour and PGA Tour events with victories. In fact, NGA Tour alums grabbed the three top positions at the PGA Tour Valspar Championship with winner John Senden, runner-up Kevin Na and third-place Scott Langley.

It’s the third week in a row an NGA Tour alum has won on the PGA Tour following Chesson Hadley’s Puerto Rico Open win and Russell Henley’s win at the Honda Classic.

Jon Curran, the 2013 NGA Tour Player of the Year, is hoping to soon join them as he grabbed his first Web.com Tour win at the Brasil Champions.

Dominic Bozzelli appears to be a candidate to become one of the next NGA Tour players who will make an impact on the next level. The NGA Tour rookie has won the first two NGA Tour Pro Series events of the season after capturing last week’s NGA Tour Classic at Stonebridge Golf & Country Club in Albany, Ga.
