Myrtle Beach High graduate Ashley Clarke and the East Carolina women's basketball team lost 87-52 to Maryland in the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament, ending a successful season for the Pirates.
Clarke had 10 points and five assists in the final game of her sophomore season, one in which she became a leader for the young Pirates.
Clarke was the Pirates' leading scorer this season and led Conference USA in assists per game. East Carolina finished up 23-11.
