Former Big South Conference standout Reggie Williams (VMI) was signed for the rest of the season by the Golden State Warriors on Monday.
Williams, a rookie, was one of the top performers in the NBA Development League this season, scoring 26.4 points per game and being named an All-Star before being called up by the Warriors. Since, the 6-foot-6 forward has impressed with Golden State, scoring 12.8 points per game through 11 contests, has made one start and scored a career-high 28 on March 8.
Warriors GM Larry Riley tells "Inside the Warriors," a blog on insidebayarea.com (the Oakland Tribune's Web site), "I think he’s played well enough. He certainly has a good upside. We want to keep him as we move forward. … He fits very well with Nellie’s [Warriors coach Don Nelson] system because he’s the kind of a guy who looks to pass, who can put it on the floor and get to the basket, and he can make a shot. He works at defense. He’s not a great defender, but he’s not an embarrassment."

At VMI, Williams averaged 22.8 points per game in four seasons playing in the Keydets' run-and-gun offense.
