Mo Williams didn't play on opening night, so Myrtle Beach native Ramon Sessions started at point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers in their win over the Boston Celtics in Cleveland's opener.
So, LeBron James and the Heat lost to the Celtics and the Cavs, minus LeBron, beat Boston.
Sessions had 14 points, three assists and two rebounds while playing a prominent role for the Cavs. He had 12 points in the first half.
Longtime Socastee coach Dan D'Antoni and the New York Knicks also opened with a win.
Good start for our local NBA contingent so far.
