People who want to get permanent ink done at the park will be out of luck, but those looking for a tattoo without the long-term commitment -- or the pain -- will have to go no further than the entry plaza.
Get Inked is a retail store there that does airbrushed and hand-painted tattoos and rock star makeovers.
The store is run by Pittsburgh-based Life's a Beach, which does face art, tattoos, airbrushing and makeovers for amusement parks across the country.
The tattoo parlor concept used for Get Inked is something the company is trying out for the first time at Hard Rock Park, said Life's a Beach president Stephanie Vegoda.
It's set up like a real tattoo parlor, and a tattoo costs anywhere from $6 to the $20s depending on the size. The ink generally lasts several days, Vegoda said, although she's heard of some lasting for weeks.
The rock star makeover includes a hairstyle with hair color, face art, tattoo and accessories for about $30 to $50.
About 50 to 75 employees will staff the parlor and other faux tattoo stations around the park, Vegoda said.
