Thee untouchable

That Coastal began their conference season with a win Friday at Liberty can be credited to reliever Joey Haug, who continues his excellent work.

Haug struck out 10 Flames over 5 1/3 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and a walk. In his last two outings, Haug has not allowed a run in nine total innings while striking out 13. He leads theteam with a sparkling 1.17 ERA, striking out 33 batters in 30 2/3 innings.

If Pete Andrelczyk and Jeff Richard reach their potential, CCU is shaping up to have solid back-end of the bullpen.

CCU baseball (20-5, 1-0) returns to action at 4 p.m. today at Liberty, with Austin Fleet taking the ball for the Chants.
