Ron Paul revolution transcends 'normal' politics
For Daniel C.
Friends:
While perusing the New York Times style section yesterday, I can across an interesting piece on the continuing Ron Paul revolution, on which our friend Daniel Cochran has been keeping us informed. Because the piece was written by a lifestyle reporter rather than a political reporter or pundit, it has an especially poignant and friendly feel. Check it out. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Cheers, dc

I hope you had a great weekend. I did, and I too enjoyed the piece with a different twist.
I bored the heck out of the wife on Sunday, who went out to do "something other than watch this cr*p", as I watched the Libertarian Party's Convention. It was funny and rather interesting.
I personally think a Ruwart/Gravel or Ruwart/Jingozian ticket would have been more in line with the platform, but that was their choice to pick Barr/Root.

I hope Daniel C and all the Ron Paul devotees saw todays Washington Post story on the Paul campaign. It seems that Ron has every member of his family-grandchildren- included drawing salaries. Indeed it seems everyone being paid at the campaign is a Paul, engaged to a Paul, or already married to a Paul! Oh well, a little nepotism never hurt anyone....

Well at least we know the lobby positions of his employees. *wink*
I found the article(s):

All I have to say on the matter is said in the first line. Look at the employee's of McCain, Obama, and Billary and you can not make the same point.

Sprout: What on earth could be wrong with involving family in campaigns, even on a paid basis? Hard to see a foul there.

It shows that instead of hiring professionals to run his campaign (if indeed he was ever serious about getting elected) he is instead using the donations of those out there to pad his familys bank accounts. And no I don't believe that all those family members were the best qualified for those jobs....
If I was a Paul acolyte I would feel like I was being taken for a ride.

Sprout,
After the convention, I will be more than happy to share my opinion on the very point you are making with that comment.
Right now, I still support the candidate that has a 20+ year voting record of "upholding the Constitution against enemies foreign and domestic".

PS. I still donate to the campaign, but not one cent to www.gop.com (looks like an advertisement for Obama) or www.mccrain.com (he was awarded FEC matching funds in the Fall of '07, got a loan on the monies in Dec '07, and has filed for general election matching funds).
