I remember watching the Roadrunner Cartoons more than 45 years ago. The wolf would put together a rather ingenious plan to catch the very formable Roadrunner.
Almost every time, however, the Roadrunner would not only avoid being captured, but he would almost always lead the wolf off a very steep cliff.
As he first ran off the cliff, the wolf would not realize there was no longer any ground under him, however, and he would continue on running as if there were.
Suddenly he would notice that there was no earth under him, and it was only then that he would tumble and fall to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
This nation’s federal government has been doing exactly the same thing to "We, the People ..." as the wolf did so many times in the Roadrunner Cartoons.
Economically and socially, America went off the edge of the cliff a few years ago, and very soon the average citizen of this country will notice that there is no land under him.
My question to you, then, is this: Will we make the economic and social changes that are needed soon enough such that we will remain a leader in the world, or will we tumble and fall to the bottom of the political pit?

Like the wolf, many Americans are greedy and think there is an "easy way" to win...similar to the "acme rocket kit" the wolf bought.
However, the bulk of American citizens know that hard honest work will help them succeed in the end. Most Americans are "well grounded" and know exactly where their feet are. Unfortunately, normal behaviour rarely makes the news. In addition, most Americans could care less if 10% of the population "runs off the cliff" as they so rightly deserve to.
Thus, most americans don't want to see any government bailout programs for the foolish.

I served on jury duty this past week. There were no cases and no jury enpanelled. There was one interesting thing when it came to qualifications to be a jurer. One of the qualifications was a person had to have a six grade education or better to be a juror. However, this qualification doesn't apply when it comes to voting. Can some one tell me why?

Richard:
The Constitution guarentees the right to vote, and the minimum age is 18. It says nothing about what the education level must be.
Jury dute is set by whatever the jurisdiction many be: city, county, state, or federal. Therefore, the educational limit is set by the city, county, or state law for it if there be one.

No teleprompter, no notes, no pre-wrote speeches, very refreshing from a candidate:

Compare this (it's a long one 52min) to this short on another candidate that has to have teleprompters, has to have notes, has to have pre-wrote speeches, and is not refreshing in the least bit:

Oh, Danial:
Periods mark go inside the quotation mark, while question marks, and exclamation marks, go outside.

I thought it was a pun, a play on the word "denial."
Or am I stating the obvious? Don't answer that, it's too late in the evening.
