Bill Connor: "I am kind of the ... anti-establishment reform candidate."

With his military experience, law degree and small-business background, Bill Connor is a undeniably well-rounded Republican candidate for lieutenant governor. He's also a very conservative candidate, earning the first endorsement the Myrtle Beach Tea Party handed out.

Connor spoke to The Sun News editorial board on May 20. A list of our questions appear below the video.

One note: In the first question, there's a pause and a skip shortly after Connor begins answering. It's not that any of his answer has been removed, but we were interrupted by the late arrival of a board member, and we stopped to repeat introductions and so forth. The video merely skips that part, but none of Connor's answer.

  • 0:00 Describe the duties of Lt. Governor.
  • 7:37 Describe more your concept of being "second in command."
  • 13:22 Do you support the governor and lieutenant governor running on the same ticket?
  • 14:54 How would you compare yourself to the other candidates?
  • 17:01 Are you supporting any candidate for governor? Who else do you see as a good leader today?
  • 19:46 What's your opinion of the Confederate flag on the Statehouse grounds?
