Let's Go Surfside



Friday’s second editorial applauds the achievements of the Surfside Beach Dixie Boys All Star baseball team:

It’s hard enough to win a state and national championship twice. But some hometown baseball players from Surfside Beach are now on track to do it three times.

After winning the state tournament earlier this month in Aiken, the Surfside Beach Dixie Boys All Star team is now set to play Georgia for the World Series title Saturday in Beaufort. It’s an amazing accomplishment for the team, most of whom have played together for the past few years. In that time, the team consistently won titles in its age bracket, bringing home the World Series trophy in Dixie Youth (ages 11-12), and in Dixie Junior (age 13). Saturday, the now-14-year-old boys will try to repeat the feat, and we wish them all the best.
