Traffickers beware

Good news for human rights advocates: After years of work and lobbying, South Carolina's human trafficking law went into effect this morning. We've written about the topic a number of times as local advocates pushed the legislature to action. (See here, and here and here.)

And while we complain so often about the intransigence and inaction of our political leaders, It's encouraging to see that such a grass-roots effort really can bear fruit. Good job all around.
