Some interesting reading on my first day back at work here. I'm somewhat of a statistics geek. I like numbers and seeing how they can be visualized and explain our world, so I find these types of things fascinating.
An enterprising soul over at IDV Solutions (a data visualization company) took 10 years of fatal accident data from the NHTSA and mapped it based on how much and to what extent alcohol was involved in the death. The result is a map that shows which regions in the nation are more likely to suffer from alcohol-related fatalities. Spoiler alert: South Carolina doesn't come out looking so good.
