Pick the winner - Daytona

Matt Kenseth won the season-opening Daytona 500 in February at Daytona International Speedway. But I don't expect a repeat performance from a driver who typically doesn't finish well at restrictor plate tracks.

The favorites are the usuals: Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch and everyone always gets giddy when Dale Earnhardt Jr. races at Daytona.

But I'm going with Kevin Harvick. He finishes second at the Daytona 500. And he's due for something good to happen.

Pick the winner - Loudon

Short and sweet.

Who wins?

Give me Kurt Busch

McCumbee replaced for Saturday's NASCAR race

Jason Young will replace Chad McCumbee in the No. 07 truck for this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Memphis, Tenn.

McCumbee did not have a sponsor for the race and will return to the truck for the Aug. 1 race in Nashville.

“Chad McCumbee is still the primary driver of the SS Green Light No. 07 team,'' said  Ken Smith, co-owner of SS Green Light Racing, in a press release. ''We had no sponsor for Chad for this race and we would most likely not been able to bring the team to Memphis. The opportunity to run Jason is purely a business decision.”

McCumbee finished 25th in Saturday's race in Milwaukee after suffering an oil pump issue. He dropped three spots to 13th in the driver standings.

Pick the winner - Sonoma

Love them or hate them, road courses are back on the schedule this week with the Toyota/SaveMart 350 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

Kyle Busch won last year's race, which was kind of a surprise considering his past results on road courses.

This year - I like Tony Stewart. But keep an eye on Marcos Ambrose.

Local driver adds sponsorship, will compete in NASCAR race tonight

Thanks to some last-minute sponsorship, Chad McCumbee will be able to compete in tonight's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Copart 200 at the Milwaukee Mile.

Inthina INc.'s tiwi brand has added two races to sponsor the No. 07 Chevrolet. The business had already signed on for four races, but added tonight's race in Milwaukee and the July 18 race in Kentucky.

McCumbee, a former Late Model driver at Myrtle Beach Speedway, is hoping to improve on a best finish of 14th at Milwaukee.

"We were pretty good with this truck at Martinsville until we had an issue with the cooling system. If we can pick-up where we left off there we should have a good run." said McCumbee.

The Truck Series is scheduled to practice from 12 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. and 1:45 to 3 p.m. today. Qualifying is set for 6:30 p.m. and the green flag is set to drop at 8 p.m.
